Annual General Meeting
In August we held our very first Annual General Meeting (AGM) of An Dúlra Co-Op.The meeting was conducted via Zoom with 31% of Shareholders attending the online event.
The 2020 /21 Audited Accounts of An Dúlra were presented at the meeting as part of the Treasurer's report. The Chairperson’s Address and Secretaries Report were also delivered to the meeting. Two members of the Board gave notice of their intention to step down from the Board at the AGM. We thank both Nathaniel and Marie for their commitment and service during their tenure as members of our Board. Two new members (Shareholders) were duly elected to The Board by the shareholders in attendance.
We are pleased to announce Aoife Gaffney (Co. Kildare) and Finbarr O'Riordan (Co. Cork) as the new members elected to the Board of An Dúlra Co-Op at the AGM. We welcome them to the position and look forward with great anticipation to what the next 12 months may bring.
Sale Agreed on Second Site
During the summer An Dúlra secured a sale agreement on a second site located at Brickeens, near Swinford in Co. Mayo. The site requires a forestry license. All of the associated paperwork has been submitted and we are now awaiting a final decision from The Forestry Service. If the sale is successful following approval and the granting of a Forestry Licence; it will result in 8,500 native trees being planted on that site by An Dúlra.
Additional Shareholder Funds
We are currently awaiting the planting of our first native woodland on our site at Coolteige in Co.Roscommon before the end of 2020. We have agreed to delay seeking additional funds to purchase further sites until planting at Coolteige is complete. We will provide details to shareholders in advance of the planting date and intend to create a short documentary of the event to celebrate the creation of the first of An Dúlra’s Native Woodlands in Ireland.
