November 2022 Update

Press Release: 12th November 2022

Cork City Marathon

Over the summer, we partnered with the Cork City Marathon in an innovative venture which offered runners the opportunity to plant a tree in an An Dúlra Native Woodland instead of receiving a race t-shirt as part of their entry package. A total of 768 runners opted for this tree planting opportunity and An Dúlra is pleased to announce that these additional 768 trees will now be planted on one of our Native Woodland sites, during this planting season.

Second AGM & Audited Accounts

Our accounts have been audited for the 2021 - 22 financial year which ended on June 30th last. These audited accounts will be presented to shareholders at our second AGM which is due to be held in early December.

New Forestry Grant Premiums Announced

The Government has recently announced an upgraded and improved grant premium scheme for new Native Woodland forestry sites. A 66% increase in the Native Woodland Grant will soon be made available. This fantastic news presents a massive boost to An Dúlra Co-Op’s prospects as we currently have three Native Woodland sites waiting to be newly planted. The latest grant announcement will enable the Co-Op to avail of the higher grant premiums payable compared to those which we had initially anticipated.

The table below shows the increase in the Forestry Grants, with the native forest premiums rising from €665 per hectare, to €1,103.
