May 2022 Update

Press Release: 30th May 2022

Trees Planted on our First Site

Our trees were planted on our first site in Coolteige, Co. Roscommon in December. 8,050 native trees were planted and we received forestry premiums for 2021 and 2022. We would like to also thank Platt Reilly for sponsoring the site as part of the Woodland Environment Fund.

The video below shows us visiting the site in January 2022:

Second Site Secured

We mentioned back in September that we went ‘sale agreed’ on a second site in Brickeens, Co. Mayo. We are pleased to report that we received the forestry license within a few months and have now closed the sale. We are due to plant Native Irish Woodland on the site towards the end of this year- 2022.

Members Agree a 4% Dividend

With two grant premiums paid we held a ‘Special Meeting’ on the 10th of May 2022 and members agreed that a 4% dividend would be paid to all existing shareholders. The dividend was paid out as ‘bonus shares’, which is a method of paying out the dividend as additional shares. Members had the option to receive cash for these shares or allow their investment to compound by receiving extra shares in the Co-Op in lieu of a cash dividend.

‘Sale Agreed’ on Third Site

In January we went sale agreed on a third site in Ballindrumlea, Co.Roscommon. Contracts have now been signed and the sale is subject to the granting of a forestry license which is currently pending. We will be looking to raise additional funds for the purchase of this site in June.
